Stacey David Net Worth – $3.5 million

What is Stacey David’s net worth? Who is Stacey David’s wife?

Introduction

Stacey David is an American television show host who is currently the host of Gearz TV show on the Velocity channel and MAV TV.

In addition, he has his own custom shop – ”The Rattletrap.” His shop is specialized in metal fabrication, suspension work, custom paint, engine building, and everything in between.

Biography

David was born in Boise, Idaho; the exact date or year of his birth, however, is unknown.

Little is known of either David’s family or his early life, beyond the fact that he has a sister.

David has, however, stated that his interest in cars and racing began at an early age.

As a teenager, he was already heavily involved in go-kart racing; he was installing 440cc snowmobile engines into his go-karts to get a speed boost and impress his fellow racers.

At the age of 12, David helped to restore his first automobile – his sister’s VW Beetle. He also began to develop a passion for off-roading and four-wheel-drive vehicles.

David attended Boise State University, where he frequently skipped class to hang out at the local race track.

During this time, he also spent a lot of time studying the vehicles and racing techniques of several legendary racers such as Caroll Shelby, Don Garlits, and Richard Petty.

Eventually, he reached the conclusion that the only way to get the car of his dreams was to build it himself.

With that in mind, he became a student of master hot-rodders such as Darryl Starbird and George Barris.

Professional Career

As a young man, David moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he opened an auto shop named “Rattletrap.”

He offered a number of services at Rattletrap, including custom paint jobs, bespoke engine-building, fabrication, and much more.

In the late 1990s, David came to the attention of TV executives who were captivated by his skill with a wrench and his charismatic energy.

TV Career

David began his TV career in 1999 as co-host of the TV show Trucks! His co-host soon left, but David was in his element and continued to appear as the sole host on the show.

The show, featured on Spike TV, soon became one of the highest-rated TV shows dispensing automotive advice and how-to sections.

David himself attributed this to the fact that he personally designed and scratch-built many of the vehicles himself, which inspired people to try to follow in his footsteps.

David continued in his role as host of the show until 2005.

Two years later, he became the main presenter of ESPN2’s new automotive show, Gearz. The show changed channels to Speed TV the following year, and David moved along with it.

The show remained with Speed TV for six seasons before moving again – this time, to MavTV. The show is still in production as of 2023, and can also be found on Amazon Prime.

David has since begun a new show on Amazon Prime – Stacey David’s Restoration Series. The show has, thus far, produced a single season of 11 episodes, and originally broadcast in 2021.

David also has a popular YouTube channel where he frequently uploads new videos of restoration and DIY car projects. The channel has 335,000 subscribers, and viewers can also watch old episodes of Gearz.
