Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — The Huntingdon Borough Police Department announced on social media Friday that its K9 unit will be receiving a donation of body armor from a nationally recognized nonprofit.
Officials say K9 Tony will soon be equipped with a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a donation from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
The organization, which was established in 2009, says its mission is to "provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States."
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc had provided over 5,300 vests to police K9s in all 50 states.
The police department says they are expected to received K9 Tony's vest within 8 to 10 weeks.
